Today’s Inspiration:
“Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.”Ephesians 4:29 NIV
Our words can be formative or destructive, to build or to break relationships. The spirit of offence is the spirit of idolatry of self. Many don’t realise that when we hurt others, we also hurt ourselves; when we resent others we resent ourselves and when we judge others, we too are being judged. Pride causes spiritual blindness to self.
Healing heals the body and deliverance delivers the spirit but what can remove the fleshly and soulish bondage of our anger, jealousy and bitterness? One lady friend was doing deliverance for others in ministry but she was always easily offended by others in anger and resentment. I spoke to her one time and discovered she didn’t believe in inner healing. Why? It is because inner healing has to deal with the “self” in us, and to heal our childish reactions due to our wounds and hurts. Mental wellness is the core of our soul care, which deals with self. Can God heal our minds? Yes, by restoring our soul. Psalm 23:3
Prayer: O Lord my God, let my every thought and emotions be captivated by the knowledge of God. Let me put off falsehood and speak truthfully to my neighbor, for we are all members of one body. In anger let I not sin against you. Do not let the sun go down while I am still angry, and do not give the devil a foothold. Heal my wounds and brokenness that I be made whole in your love, grace and mercy, in Jesus Name, Amen.
