Today’s Inspiration:

“Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.”Romans 8:5 NIV

Today the minds are captivated by the digital world and social media that the mind can be heavily set on the flesh and not the Spirit. As disciples and disciplers of the Word we need discernment of the Spirit to detect signs of the flesh which attacks the mind. The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God. You, however, are not in the realm of the flesh but are in the realm of the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God lives in you. And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ. Romans 8:6-9 When we get caught up by pleasures and not prayers; getting emotional and not bearing fruit of the Spirit; making excuses than confession for our sins, and more desires for self than one’s spirit life and growth, for they are signs of backsliding, lukewarmness, self deception and pride. Matthew 7:16

Prayer: O Lord my God, let my flesh be crucified at the cross of Calvary and my mind be fully captured by your Holy Spirit. Lead me by the spirit and not succumb to the desires of the flesh. Turn me back to my first love daily, your perfect love that casts out all fears and to live by faith in Christ and not by sight of my fleshly desires. Let my heart be consecrated and offered that there is fire on the altar once again daily. MAY the fire of the Spirit burns brighter, in Jesus Name, Amen.
