Today’s Inspiration: “Pride brings a person low, but the lowly in spirit gain honor.” Proverbs 29:23 NIV Pride is the biggest stronghold and bondage to the healing and restoration of the soul. In church we notice most people who say they are “ok” but are not internally and ironically those who say they are not ok and need help, are the ones who are ok. The root of pride is always fear, low self-esteem and insecurity. One needs to show the world they are able to rely on their own strength, intellect and religiosity and not God.
Prophet Isaiah spoke, “You come to the help of those who gladly do right, who remember your ways. But when we continued to sin against them, you were angry. How then can we be saved? All of us have become like one who is unclean, and all our righteous acts are like filthy rags; we all shrivel up like a leaf, and like the wind our sins sweep us away.” Isaiah 64:5-6 Pride always lead to anger which speaks wrong words and makes wrong decisions. Only repentance to God is able to break the pride of life and heal our anger, giving health to our hearts and minds with God’s peace. Meekness is weakness to the world but in the kingdom of God holds the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God. Peace be with us.
Prayer: O Lord my God, we repent of all pride, anger and jealousy in comparison. A humble and contrite heart you will not despise. Let your church and families be open for prayers and your word. Break all offenses and strife, and let love of God brings peace, grace and forgiveness in our spirit man for one another in your righteousness. Give me courage, faith and strength to be open for your healing, restoration and reconciliation, in Jesus Name, Amen.
